Academic Advisor

This is a part-time position (3-6 hours a week) in RSU 19 Adult Education.  Our academic advisor assists with the intake process of new students, develops an Individual Learning Plan, and helps our students determine a career and/or college pathway beyond the high school diploma.  This may also include meeting with adults who are residents in our communities who have been displaced or are looking for a different career.


BA/BS degree preferred, but not required.


Skills needed for this position require:

  • A desire to know our students (of all ages) and to see them succeed in their academic endeavors
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, in-person and remote)
  • Strict adherence to following FERPA regulations and confidentiality
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn the CCRS (College and Career Readiness Standards)
